Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has described PAS
as "a cat on a hot tin roof" (cacing kepanasan) following disclosure
of the party's secrets by former strongman Datuk Hasan Ali.
He said PAS was making Umno and Barisan Nasional the scapegoat by
accusing the Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) of giving RM30mil to finance
Hasan's nationwide roadshow.
"Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek (Youth and Sports Minister)
told me of this. It is normal for PAS to accuse Umno when facing problems.
"PAS is running in panic following Hasan's disclosure at his
roadshow and has nobody else to blame but Umno," he said when presenting
Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) for Jorak constituency at National Youth Skills
Institute (IKBN) here today.
PAS vice-president Datuk Mahfuz Omar had claimed that that KBS channelled
RM30mil to fund the roadshow by Hasan, the former Selangor PAS commissioner.
Muhyiddin said that the claim was a lie and as a fellow Muslim, he
advised PAS not to commit sins.
"Hasan Ali has the strength and determination to disclose
what is happening in PAS and the party has to face it.
"Why accuse Umno for their problems. PAS should recognise
their own flaws and not look for a black sheep," he added.
Asked whether the government will act against Mahfuz for making
the claim, he said it is up to the minister concerned to take appropriate
action.
