"The main aim of the forum is to reveal Pas' struggle to UMNO's
machinery, relevant quarters and the public, which after scrutiny, appears to embrace
aspects that could undermine the faith of Muslims particularly in Terengganu.
"We have many intellectuals on Islam and Islamic politics who
are ever ready to assist in carrying out the programme," he told reporters
after chairing the forum at Taman Tamadun Islam here today.
Among the panelists were Ilmuan Muda Malaysia chief executive
officer Fathul Bari Yahya, Besut Pas former youth chief Wan Mohamad Wan Ahmad,
Assoc prof Dr Yusof Mohamad from the Malaysian Islamic International
University, Penang former deputy chief minister Dr Mohd Fairuz Khairuddin and
Special Affairs Department former director-general Datuk Mustafa Taib.
Yahya said the forum was triggered by a statement by Terengganu
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said recently that Pas could be regarded as
a party of deviant teachings. (Bernama)
