Selangor Barisan Nasional (BN) wants Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim
to reply to allegations made by Malaysia-Today editor, Raja Petra Kamaruddin
that the PKR-led state government had awarded projects directly and not through
open tender since it came to power in the state in 2008.
Selangor BN coordinator, Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed said the
Selangor Menteri Besar needed to clarify the allegations as he (Abdul Khalid)
in April 2008 had promised to eliminate negotiated tenders to Bumiputera
contractors to avoid monopolies by certain parties.
"Abdul Khalid should counter the allegations to prove that he
is walking the talk," he told reporters here today.
Mohd Zin was commenting on a media reports today, quoting the
exposure by Raja Petra that the PKR-led Selangor government had given projects
worth more than RM250 million directly and not through open tenders since the
opposition took over the state after the March 2008 general election.
